Thoughts on the Week
Friday has come and thus we have ended another week, a week which saw the World Series start (It might have been last week, I don’t follow baseball nor do I care much for it) my Eagles going 8-0, Republicans seem to be celebrating an incoming Red Wave in the mid term elections coming up, the Supreme Court looks like it shall do away with affirmative action, CNN continues to suck and the View continues do air on television despite being literal viewing garbage and a stain on political commentary (any commentary for that matter).
Sports aside, it is fascinating to see how the people of this country treat their politics the same way others treat their football teams, they will live and die on the hill which they have planted their flag on, for instance in the race for the Senate in Pennsylvania in which John Fetterman (or Fetterwoman depending on his mood I guess) is taking on Dr. Oz and Fetterman during the course of his election campaign did unfortunately suffer a stroke and my heart goes out to him and I pray he is strengthened as he recovers, but anyone sane person can see that this man is not fit to run for office, this should be an objective fact based off of the debate we saw earlier this week with the two rivals (could have been last week as well but whatever) when Fetterman seemed to be incoherent in his message and incapable of putting together a decent string of dialogue, but despite all that you still here reports that people want him to run and even getting the backing of Oprah (why this is important I do not know, but I guess this woman with zero political experience knows best) and so you just have a situation where someone seems to be a puppet being used by a desperate party despite his clear need to rest and even retire, but enough about Joe Biden, Fetterman really shouldn’t win.
Also Kyrie Irving got suspended by the Nets which was a long time coming, it just goes to show that even in this era of cancel culture when you shouldn’t be apologising for every little mistake you make (especially for those who posted something when they were younger) you should still be capable admitting when you are genuinely wrong, say sorry and then move on with your life, hopefully Kyrie shall have learned from this.
Finally, we say goodbye to the Daily Show with Trevor Noah, a show that started off funny for me, but once the pandemic hit and there wasn’t a laugh track you came to realise it was kinda not funny at all, but now it is in a better place and hopefully Trevor can go back to offending Indians and Julius Malema like in the good old days.
p.s. I had my first Halloween and it was underwhelming, so underwhelming I forgot about it until I was searching for the picture to use for the blog post
