Ads Ads and More Ads
In my time here in the States, I have have gone back to the American sports I grew up playing in PS2, except for watching baseball which is just a glorified version of cricket and i’d rather watch a sloth climb a tree and I'm sure it would reach the top before any of the other games actually finish, amd watching these sports I have come to appreciate that Americans will find a way and a reason to always have a sport on TV at any given time but more importantly, I'm pretty sure i’ve watched more ads than i’ve seen touchdowns.
Ads are important in every sports business and it’s important to remember that all if these sports are business, but growing up and only really watching Football (the real one where they kick the ball) there wasn’t such a big emphasis on ads however watching the premier league here you can almost see the USA network fighting the urge to send it to commercial during a throw in, it’s actually quite a frustrating experience when players are walking onto the pitch and then suddenly I'm sent to an add, I find it frustrating that for some reason Lexus has to be put in front of the word stoppage time, I find it frustrating that the people who are supposed to break the game down are given 5 minute intervals to do so and again I feel like I watch more ads than I hear analysis and this is just mainly cause I'm used to how it works from coverage outside of the USA but at least I get to watch my football despite the fact that I need 2000 different subscriptions to watch all the leagues I like.
Shout out though to my Philadelphia Eagles who have started the season 7-0 in the NFL, it’s become quite the contender in a league which I can barely watch because you need some sort of league pass to watch everything same with the NBA and you'd think with leagues that give you a million ads a match you could at least be allowed to watch all the games available instead you'll need need a pass and multiple streaming services just to bloody get you to watch Demar Derozen shoot nothing but mid rangers and Russell Westbrook shoot nothing but bricks, but hay that is the life of an American sports fan I guess
