Premier League Game Week 5 and 6 Look Back
A little hard to make the normal reviews given the back to back matches but we can still look at the major stories that took place, for instance Arsenal are no longer capable of being invincible as Manchester United continues their resurgence, though we shouldn’t get too far ahead of ourselves, but still the race for the top is well an truly on, until Man City decide to end it which might be soon as Haaland seems to be in beast mode already though he couldn’t prevent them dropping points at Villa of all places allowing Stevie G to survive again.
VAR was in the spotlight as there was poor call after poor call, but to those who believed that VAR would take away the debate and “what if” aspect of football, then please have a seat and enjoy this delicious slice of humble pie as you are clearly wrong since pundit after pundit and fan after fan found themselves debating and moaning about some of the decisions which went through, the most prevalent being West Ham not getting a equalizer, Newcastle not getting at least a penalty, Arsenal having a goal called back for a foul, and the decision which I thought was the most damning Macalister had a wonder goal ruled out for a stupid reason, now some of the choices are debatable, Eriksen was fouled and that is the end of it for me and I low-key feel Mendy was fouled so I am not too upset about it, however we saw a contender for goal of the season so far at Brighton and it was disallowed for one of the dumbest reasons you could give and it just shouldn’t be allowed and beautiful goals need to be protected but it is what it is.
Lastly, its always unfortunate to have to talk about someone losing their jobs, though these guys are millionaires so I feel a little less sympathy but the latest manager to be sacked this season is Thomas Tuchel of Chelsea, poor man has lost his wife (through divorce) and now his job, remember when Jose went ballistic at the Chelsea medical team and that started a slow decent to the end of his Chelsea tenure? Well Tuchel went ballistic to Conte but to be fair to old Tom his slow decent began around last November as far as I am concerned but that incident against Spurs was just a culmination of it all still he will surely find his feat, maybe Klopp will join him? Doubtful, Liverpool will be fine, next up for the sack I believe is definitely the loser of El Sackico this weekend between Villa and Leicester.
