Arsenal are Legit!
Ayo! I am back, been away visiting my home country for the last month and in that time I had to experience Man Utd concede 6 to two separate goal scorers in the Manchester Derby but we in rebuild and Man City are essentially a real life FIFA team being controlled by a game dev, but even worse than that I have had to come to terms that Arsenal is a legitimate threat to winning the Premier League.
Don’t get me wrong, they wont win it, any other league then they would have been my favourite but in truth the favourites for the Premier League are the aforementioned footballing incarnations of Thanos, they added Haaland to their team and then essentially reality could become anything they want, but that doesn’t mean that Arsenal can’t at least make it a challenge the way Liverpool did, nah they won’t do that either I grant you and City will probably win the league with a margin of upwards of 10 points but all that aside, I have given Arsenal a disservice. I tipped them to finish 10th at best, even finishing below the likes of Manchester United which was a bit of hopium mixed with irrational love for my team despite the fact the same players have let me down time and time and time again as if its some sort of running joke within the United board to se how long we can go on until Old Trafford is reduced to an average attendance of 30k, there is no way that the Arsenal deserved to be lumped into the same conversation as Manchester United and after their preseason it was clear that they had turned a corner and I have had to have been forced to see it after their recent results.
Now Arsenal did still lose to Man Utd at Old Trafford but they were still decent, it isn’t like they were dominated from start to finish plus it is Arsenal at Old Trafford, losing is all they do on that ground so no shock their, the real result to turn things around was the fact that they beat Liverpool of all team and beat them by being better throughout the match. of course Liverpool seem to be playing with as much confidence as an anorexic in a body building competition and they do have Trent at the back but they still scored twice and any other Arsenal side would have folded but not this team they just kept going, Liverpool is that team, much like Man Utd at Old Trafford, that just seem to always own Arsenal but not this time, this time they were in control and always looked in control of the situation and they were convincing in the NLD but again Spurs always lose at the Emirates but this is a Spurs team under Conte, a new dogged resilient team that knows how to play dirty and find a way to win, they were outclassed and at times even outworked by these youngsters of Arsenal and full credit to the kids cause that does take some doing.
Now looks, this is still Arsenal, they can easily go on a losing streak from now until February and find themselves in a battle for the top four, the World Cup could completely derail them, one of them could start dating a Kardashian, the point is anything could be able to derail the momentum of thein Arsenal team, but until then they have made a believer out of me, 9 games in and no draws with only 1 loss, that’s champions form, that a new leaf, that a new team, let us see how far they go.
Also Liverpool are garbage and that makes me happy.
