Good Ebening

So another weekend of Premier League football has passed us by. Manchester United and Chelsea played off a tactically interesting 1 all draw in which Scott McFoul came off the bench and showed the intelligence of Harry Maguire in a Greek night club giving away a penalty but there was plenty of resilience from Man United as the equalized at the death through Casemiro, may we never see McFred again. Man City won again in news about as interesting as hearing the world record for paint drying and Haaland scored again (of course) Liverpool brought me my single greatest piece of joy over the weekend when they somehow decided not to win against the team which was bottom of the League at the time losing to a team with a player most Liverpool fans would tell you had never stepped foot at their training center, Liverpool are as consistent as the plot of a fast and furious movie (Though to be fair the movies have been consistently bad). Hugo Lloris is going at lengths to prove my theory that players and teams tend to perform better at Old Trafford just to spite me and then next week they play like they belong to a Sunday League team from Gibraltar, as the Spurs captain let in two very idiotic goals against Newcastle United losing the game. And League Leaders Arsenal have drawn against Southampton making their lead at the top only one point and this on the weekend where I decided to put my faith in them to stopping the City Juggernaut how wrong I was.

However the big news from the weekend was that Fulham had beaten Aston Villa 3-0 at Craven Cottage and finally, mercifully at long last, Steven Gerrard has been sacked as Manager of Aston Villa football club. the Fulham result was actually midweek and the turn around was very fast into the weekend but that didn’t stop the Villa players from going 3’0 up in 15 minutes against Brentford and ending with a 4-0 win. And after all that Aston Villa have announced that former Arsenal manager Unai Emery shall take charge of the Villains with his first match being away at Old Trafford. That guy who writes the football script for the Premier League is one cruel person at times and deserves a raise in salary, you just know he is going to come in and steady the Villa ship which will allow them to go to Old Trafford be resolute at the back and deny any freedom for Marcus Rashford to succeed through the middle as Antony and Sancho shall make more cut backs and back passes than James Corbin making an abusive statement towards a member of stuff and it will see Villa hold out for the 1-0 win against my team for the second year in a row. That or we will absolutely murder them, I hope for the latter.
