Don’t Sleep on the Reds
In this weekend’s premier league look back, we must start with a team that wants to make me look like I have the football knowledge of a baboon slinging feces as Liverpool have once again lost to a team that was in the relegation zone which was bad enough against Nottingham Forest but at least they have the excuse of it being a bogey stadium, but they lost to Leeds at home, Leeds never beat Liverpool at home and more importantly Virgil Van Dijk hadn’t lost at Anfield in 70 matches so surely they would bounce back like a tennis ball thrown from the top of a building, but instead the bounce was that of a bowling ball landing on Joe Gomes is head as the Reds lost 2-1 just two weeks off from me saying they were back after beating Man City, and I will not waiver on my belief, I still feel like Liverpool should be seen as favourites in the top 4 race because they could just go on streaks of pure dominance winning match after match the same way Steph Curry could go 0-10 from deep and then drain his next 15 3-pointers, Liverpool are just that good and can’t possibly stay bad forever you would feel.
Elsewhere in the league Man Utd pulled off a resilient defensive display with help from David De Gea, who isn’t going to the world cup a decision as baffling as blindly passing the ball to you goalkeeper without actually knowing where he is, and that has seen United go above Chelsea who have lost their first match under Graham Potter against his former club Brighton 4-1 because the script writers decided to once again make the premier league seem like a Telemundo soap opera. Arsenal decided to take questions of their inability to score goals and play a Thursday-Sunday schedule personally and put 5 passed Nottingham Forest a week after Forest beat Liverpool at home to go back above Man City who struggled to get passed Leicester but got there in the end thanks to a majestic strike from KDB as the team still doesn’t look great they haven’t looked good this whole season to be honest except for the Derby and it is hidden by Haaland is performances and another team that Struggling is Spurs who had to come back from two down to beat Bournemouth all as Newcastle put 4 passed Villa before Emery took over.
UCL football is on today and we shall see if there will be any drop off from the teams of the PL but in Liverpool’s case, they will need a pick up as they will be facing the mighty Napoli.
