Thank You Roger

For those of you who frequent my page, it should be apparent that I am really in to sport and one of my favourite sports is the great sport of Tennis the gentleman’s game (I am pretty sure that’s cricket but I don’t care enough to check) and the main man that got me hooked into the great sport is the Swiss Maestro himself, Roger Federer. I still remember watching the 2007 Wimbledon final, Roger v Rafa a rivalry akin to Holmes v Moriarty, Batman v Joker, Luis Suarez v the temptation to bite the necks of his opponents. My dad is a big Nadal fan and so he was supporting him that day and I wanted to be different and difficult so I decided to support the opposition and of course Roger won the match, obviously I am the good luck charm.

The years would go by and the majesty and supremacy of the Fed Express would continue to dominate the men’s game, so much so that he was able to break the all time record for most grand slams in the open era as well bein the first male tennis player to reach 20 grand slam titles and a staggering 8 Wimbledon titles 8!!! Truth be told he would have had many many more titles if he didn’t have to deal with two other goats in their own right but this post isn’t about them.

Despite not being at the top of the grand slam charts anymore Roger in my opinion is still arguably the goat not because of what he has accomplished but how he did it, if you have never watched him play then please do yourself a service and witness the greatest of all time, his footwork was superb, his serve was sublime, he had the best forehand and the most majestic backhand. He is simply the Goat.

Thank you Roger!
